Oscar winning actor Tom Hanks has declared that he and his wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for coronavirus in Australia.

US actor Tom Hanks and Wilson shared an update from Australia, where they are isolation being tested positive for coronavirus. On Thursday night, Tom Hanks has tweeted a picture with his wife and thanked those who have care for them as they battle the virus. In his recent tweet he wrote, “ Hello folks, Rita Wilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who is taking such good care of us. We have COVID-19 and we are in isolation so we don’t spread it to anyone else”. 

Just a day earlier, Hanks posted his statement on social media platform Instagram in which he revealed that he and his wife have tested positive. His words were “ Hello folks, Rita Wilson and I are down here in Australia, we felt a bit tired like we had colds and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play the things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus and were found positive”. 

In his video message on social media, Colin, Hanks’ son from his first wife said that, he had just got off the phone with them, they both were fine, they both weren’t even that sick. He further added that, the couple was receiving excellent care and were in good spirits given the circumstances and he is in constant contact with them and was confident that they would make a full recovery. 

Warner Bros confirmed that the actor was in Australia, doing pre-production work on a film about singer Elvis Presley. Hanks is set to play the role of Presley’s manage, Colonel Tom Parker. 

According to World Health Organization  WHO, there were more than 120confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia. The Government of Australia announced $11.4  billion economic plan to support the country’s economy during the epidemic.
