The Sky Is Pink movie review: Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim shine in this emotional ride
The Sky is Pink is must watch as your heart will go out to the Chaudhary family and their zest for making every moment count.
The Sky Is Pink which hits the screens on October 11 is produced by Priyanka's Purple Pebble Pictures and Siddhartha Roy Kapoor and to this the actress's return in Hindi films after three years. She was last seen in Prakash Jha's 2016 film Jai Gangaajal.
During an interview Priyanka Chopra told that The Sky is Pink is about What Happens," when you have children, and then if you have a child who's sick, you become caretakers and what happens in a relationship, and how you have to nourish a relationship, take care of it when it's broken, because it will be, what loss and grief does to you."
The film also stars Dangal actress Zaira Wasim in the prominent role, is an emotional story of a girl who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis. Zaira plays the role of a teenage daughter who tells the love story of their parents.
However, writer-director Shonali Bose, is 2014 Netpac-winner whose last project was Margarita With a Straw which is about a sexually alive girl with disabilities. Here Shonali Bose and Nilesh Maniyar’s screenplay are based on the true story of Aisha Chaudhary, a teenager with pulmonary fibrosis whose loving parents dedicated their lives to helping her survive. In fact, the end credits roll over painfully cheery photos of the real Chaudhary family.
Meanwhile, Shonali Bose said in an interview, Aditi's motto in life is, 'When life is tough, look like a million bucks'. Every day, even when Aisha was very, very sick, Aditi would stand in front of her wardrobe and think what she would like to wear’.
However, The movie begins with a narration is by Aisha who’s speaking from beyond the grave. She affectionately tells her life story and interprets her family’s feelings and motives. She calling her mother, Aditi (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), “Moose” and her father, Niren (Farhan Akhtar), “Panda.” The two have made a mixed-caste love marriage that was disapproved by society, binds them closely together. It’s a full family emotional drama that will give you a roller coaster ride of emotions.
It's not cool to do the obvious. When one celebrates Birth then you very well may celebrate Death. Shonali Bose along with her co writer Neelesh Maniyar and co dialogue writer @writeonj have woven a beautiful love story that celebrates life and life after death. #TheSkyIsPink— Faridoon Shahryar (@iFaridoon) October 9, 2019
#TheSkyIsPink was such an intensely beautiful & beautifully intense experience despite being so light in its treatment throughout. Overwhelmed.— Suparna Thombare (@suparnat) October 9, 2019
#TheSkyIsPink is an emotional rollercoaster. One second you are wiping your teary eyes and the next second you have that shine in the eye as well. It tells you that human beings can be brave and beautiful too! @priyankachopra @FarOutAkhtar @RSVPMovies— Gautam (@filmygautam) October 9, 2019
