Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam (74) mostly referred to as S. P. B, Indian playback singer, music director, actor, dubbing artist and film producer who worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. He has recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages.
SP Balasubramaniam, the legendary singer of Indian Cinema, announced that he contracted Covid-19 and his wife, Savithri also had to be admitted in the MGM Healthcare, for the same. The singer's health deteriorated after two days of admission and he was shifted to an ICU, immediately.
Soon after it was announced that singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s health began deteriorating on Thursday evening, actor and one of his closest friends, Kamal Haasan, rushed to the hospital where the singer has been undergoing treatment in Chennai.
His last update was shared on September 22, in which he had said, “Dad continues the steady progress towards getting better.”
About 50 days since SPB was first admitted on August 5, MGM Healthcare put out a bulletin that said the singer’s condition had taken a turn for the worse. “His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical.
