In shocking turn of events, a cricket team have been bowled out with only 4 overs bowled with all the players getting out for a duck. What was amusing was the fact the team’s overall score was 4, which was extra’s provided by the bowling side. The opposition chased down the target of 5 within the first over.

It was a under -19 girls district match between Kerla teams Kasargod and Wayanad. The match was played at the Perinthalmanna cricket stadium in Malappuram district on the 15th of May 2019. It was the Kasargod under-19 girls team captain S Akshatha who won the toss and chose to bat first, little did she know that her team would fall for such a low score and had to carry the embarrassment of the loss.

It was the 3rd over where things took a shift, with Nithya Loordh, who picked up both the openers in a short span, also being the captain of the side she finished off picking 3 wickets, the pick of the bowlers was Joshitha who closed the Kasargod innings by picking up 4 wickets, in a span of 5 balls also managed to pick a hatrick as well. While Sraya Roy picked one wicket and Arathi Ravi picking 2 wickets. It was a sight to see while the players marched to the crease and coming back without scoring. It was lucky for Kasargod to have gotten 4 extra runs, imagine 10 wickets down for zero, that’s something preposterous.

The Wayanad girls team closed the match within the first over, with only 5 runs on the scorecard.

Kasaragod district cricket association secretary, Noufal PH in an interaction with the Times of India said, "It is quite embarrassing and shocking really. It is our best available team. We don't have a woman coach. So we utilise the services of one of our senior players, who has played at the zonal level as the coach of U-19 team. At least a couple of players in our U19 team had played zonals last year. Wayanad is one of the best teams in the state when it comes to women's cricket. But even then this performance from our team is inexplicable.”
