The price of LPG or liquefied petroleum gas has increased by Rs 6 for non-subsidised LPG and 28, 29 paise for subsidised LPG since Wednesday, May 1 in the two metro cities. The state-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is the largest fuel retailer in the country providing LPG under the Indane brand. Here is how the price of LPG has changed since 1 May 2019

Unsubsidized LPG prices in the four meters, however, have been reduced so far this year in the range of Rs. 96-98.5 per cylinder. During this period, the data showed, subsidized LPG rates were lowered by Rs. 4.71-4.83 per cylinder. Currently, by providing the subsidy amount directly in bank accounts, the government subsidizes 12 cylinders of 14.2-kg each per household in a year. The consumer must bear the market price for any additional purchases.
Depending on changes in the average international benchmark LPG and also foreign exchange rates, this subsidy amount varies from month to month.
