The sources of the IT Department said the cash more than Rs 9 crore had been recovered from Mr. Srinivasan's house in a Nadumottur village in Katpadi.
The IT Officials recently raided Kathir Anand, son of Mr. Srinivasan a senior DMK leader and party treasurer Duraimurugan, contests at the general elections from the Vellore parliamentary constituency.
10.50 lakh of alleged "excess" cash was recovered from Mr. Duraimurugan's properties, including Kathir Anand's college, on Saturday. The cash bundles were recovered from a godown, which was neatly packed with ward numbers written on them.
Mr. Duraimurugan stated that the raids were a "conspiracy" by some political leaders who, in the electoral arena, could not confront them.
IT officials are suspecting the cash found at the godown to have shifted from a college, which was searched on March 30, sources added, during the intervening night of March 29 and 30.
