Howdy Modi: PM Modi in USA meets relihious commumities and oil sector CEO's
PM Modi intracted with members of Dawoodi Bohra, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits and Sikh communities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Houston to address 50,000 Indian-Americans for the ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event where US President Donald Trump will be joining him to address a mega rally. PM Modi arrived in Houston on Saturday and He tweeted, “Howdy, Houston”. Hours after arrival, PM Modi met leaders of the energy sector in the US with a focus on working together for energy security and expanding mutual investment opportunities between India and the United States.
He has also met members of the Sikh community who handed him a memorandum. PM Modi also met a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits, who voiced support for the “steps being taken” in India. PM Modi intracted with members of Dawoodi Bohra, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits and Sikh communities.
Surinder Kaul,who was seen representing the Kashmiri Pandit community said, "PM told us you've suffered a lot. Together we have to build a new Kashmir. Our youth presented him the messages that the community had prepared for him. I presented a memorandum on behalf of the community. He gladly accepted it."
He added 'We thanked him on behalf of the 700,000 Kashmiri Pandits all over the globe for such a historic decision. We assured him that our community will work with the government to fulfill the dream for a Kashmir which is peaceful, full of growth and where people are happy.'
Meanwhile after hismeeting with CEOs PM Modi tweeted: 'It is impossible to come to Houston and not talk energy!
Had a wonderful interaction with leading energy sector CEOs. We discussed methods to harness opportunities in the energy sector.
Also witnessed the signing of MoU between Tellurian and Petronet LNG.' with couple of pictures from meeting.
After the Houston event, PM Modi is scheduled to be in New York from September 23 to 27. He is supposed to attend the United Nations General Assembly on September 27 and meet the US president on the sidelines.
