Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bengaluru on Friday to watch the touch down of the Chandrayaan 2 lander Vikram, told ISRO scientists that the entire nation stands with them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the ISRO scientists at the space agency's headquarters in Bengaluru. During his interaction, PM Modi said ''You are the ones who live for the nation. You are the ones who sacrifice your own dreams and spend sleepless nights to keep India's head high,".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hugged the ISRO chief, shook hands with the ISRO scientists and India's top space scientist Dr. K Sivan. 

Following quite a while of expectation, Indian Space Research Organisation plan to land Chandrayaan 2's lander on the moon's surface did not go according to content early today, with the Chandrayaan 2 lander lost communication with ground stations during its final descent, few seconds before it was supposed to touch down on the moon's surface. 

The space agency said Chandrayaan 2 Vikram's normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Later, communication from the Chandrayaan 2 from the lander to the ground stations was lost, adding that data was being analyzed. 

Narendra Modi was watching and following the updates as the tense moments unfolded. After he was briefed by Dr. Sivan, he left the place where he was viewing the mission and walked downstairs.
