Atlee-Vijay's next venture 'Thalapahy 63' begins shooting!

Actor Illayathalapathy Vijay begins shooting for his next big venture 'Thalapathy 63'. The movie is directed by Atlee who earlier gave blockbuster movies 'Theri' and 'Sarkar' to the 'Mersal' star.

'Thalapathy 63' kicks off shooting with Vijay clapping for the movie. The movie marks as the third collaboration of Vijay and Atlee after the huge success of 'Mersal' and 'Sarkar'.

After the success of 'Mersal' and 'Sarkar', actor Vijay and director Atlee are teaming up for tentatively titled 'Thalapathy63'. The movie was officially launched in Chennai on Sunday, 20th January.

The movie is bankrolled by AGS entertainment and stars Vijay, Nayanthara, Kathir, Vivek Yogi Babu and other actors in pivotal roles. Touted to be a sports drama, the sources reveal that Thalapathy 63 revolves around the sport of women’s soccer and Vijay will be seen as a coach with 16 girls training in football making their foray into the silver screen.

The most anticipated movie of Tamil film industry went on floors yesterday, with Vijay giving the first clap for the shooting. Thalapathy 63 marks Lady Superstar Nayanthara's collaboration with Vijay after a decade. If the reports are to be believed, 'Mersal' star is expected to shed weight to play the character of a soccer coach in the movie. 

Archana Kalpathi, CEO of AGS entertainment took to her official Twitter account to share the launch photo. She wrote, "To new beginnings and dreams coming true. Need all your blessings and good wishes as we take our first step today #Thalapathy63 pooja". 

According to a statement released by AGS Entertainment at the time of the project announcement, the film will be a mass entertainer and will deal with a genre that will be first-of-its-kind for Vijay. The film has music by maestro AR Rahman and this will be his third successive project with the actor.

Further sources reveal that, the shooting of the film will officially begin from today in Chennai and it is slated to hit the silver screen for Diwali 2019.
